The Trained Nurses’ Association of India (TNAI), established in 1908, is a national organization dedicated to upholding the dignity of the nursing profession, fostering unity among nurses, and promoting their professional, educational, and economic welfare. The TNAI Tamil Nadu State Branch, has been actively organizing various programmes and activities across the state for the welfare of the nurses and nursing community. These initiatives aim to empower nurses, enhance their leadership skills, and strengthen the nursing community, contributing significantly to the overall growth and recognition of the profession in Tamil Nadu.
About SNAI
The Student Nurses Association of India (SNAI), established in 1929 under the aegis of the Trained Nurses’ Association of India (TNAI), is committed to nurturing professionalism, ethical practice, and unity among nursing students. It aims to ensure the holistic development of students, instill strong professional ethics, and foster teamwork for shared goals. SNAI also strives to cultivate leadership qualities and effective communication skills, shaping future leaders in the nursing profession and society.
The Tamil Nadu State SNAI has emerged as a vibrant and dynamic force, actively engaging students through a wide range of programmes. Notable initiatives include the Student Advocacy and Leadership Training (SALT 1.0 and 2.0) and the achievement of two world records—World Young Achiever Book of Records and Asia & India Book of Records. In 2023, zonal and state biennial conferences were conducted successfully. With renewed enthusiasm, the association is now organizing the 31st State SNAI Biennial Conference to further its mission.
